I recently translated material in Romanian and I met a situation that made me think. It was to explain the two terms "Belief vs. Trust ". I took a break and I tried to explain myself, the two notions. We attach the following materials you have studied me as it seemed quite interesting, especially in the delineation of two terms: "Belief vs. Trust ".
I hope to be useful.
Thank you!

“Trust and Believe are two words that are taken to be similar in connotation and thus are often considered interchangeable. There is difference in the usage of the two words.
Trust is stronger than believe. Trust is something that comes with you during the hard times of the other person whom you have trusted. It is a kind of permanent faith. Imagine you have borrowed some money from your friend. You believe strongly that your friend would return back the money at some stage or the other.
You can never imagine your friend cheating you. You firmly feel that he would return the money. Unfortunately imagine he falls into dire straits. Even then you feel that he would return when he returns back to the normal condition. This is where you place complete trust on your friend and his capability to return the money.
In short it can be said that trust is complete faith. On the other hand the word ‘believe’ has the sense of ‘momentary’ in it. Belief is momentary in its concept. On the other hand trust is permanent in its concept.
Believe consists in accepting what the others say about something. Trust consists in not only believing or accepting what the others say about something but following the suggestions and instructions put forward by them. Hence trust is a step above belief. Hence it can be said that believe is a subset of trust.
It can be said that belief is a mere thought whereas trust is complete faith. In other words trust is all about completeness whereas belief is not about completeness. It is quite often possible that a believer ends up in utter confusion being troubled with thought, idea and wild imagination. On the other hand there are no additional qualities called thought, idea and imagination in trust. Trust is universal.
Trust does not change in any circumstance. On the other believe may change due to other impulsions too both from within and without. Trust is built on friendship and closeness. Belief is built on observation. What you observe may deceive you at times. And hence believe is not strong in content. On the other hand trust is very strong since it is not built on observation but on closeness and proximity.
There is an element of thorough understanding in trust whereas believe is characterized by the absence of the element of thorough understanding.

Trust in is often used with the idea of faith in a particular religion or philosophy. You can trust someone, as I said, because you believe they won't let you down but people trust in a particular religion or a god or some authority/power that is different from just an individual person. Christians say: Accept what happens in life and trust in the Lord.
