Hi, dear Yuko, and thank you so much for your nice introduction!
Your invitation to share the monthly meditation altogether is so good and wonderful; I also would like to ask you if you can also share your knowledge an experience with the ReikiPath members either - we would be thrilled to find out more knowledge from you.

Namaste,
Mona

Hello reikipath and Mona,

Thanks for your warm and kind words!
I have lived in New York for last 10 years and received all the Reiki attunements there. (My master is Japanese though…) Now I decided to stay in Japan and just started the Reiki group a month ago. So I’m a kind of new to Reiki theme in Japan. I’m not sure if I can answer all the questions you may have but please feel free to ask me if you would like to know about Reiki in Japan.

In my Reiki group, I usually throw distant meditation on the new moon or the full moon. I will announce the date on this forum for our next meditation.

On September 28th, I’m going to Mount Kurama where Dr. Usui got his Reiki energy. Since the date is a day before the new moon, I just came up with an idea that I would send Reiki energy from there to anybody in this forum who requests me.

Hi, dearest Yuko
and thank you for your nice message to us Smiley

I would like to ask you to share us details about how those meditations are "working", in order to help our colleagues acknowledging your personal experience, please.
We all are learning from each other, as we all are unique and irrepetable entities, therefore, after we get the basic knowledge from someone, then - after a long practice, we can perform what we have learned from the others by creating a way that fits to us.
I am sure your experience and practice is very interesting to us, even though you see yourself yet as a pretty new practitioner. New practitioners have also new things for us to learn, isn't it so, dear friend? Wink
Also, until you will get to tell us something specific to Reiki in Japan in time, we would feel happy to learn about the knowledge you got from your Japanese master - I am sure he taught you so wonderful things, such as how he sees and performs an attunement, if he uses or not the symbols, some personal Reiki tips he taught you, what great outcomes might be achieved by doing Reiki healing on the people having all kind of imbalances (not just physical but also emotional, mental, psychological, spiritual) and so on...
You are so welcome, dear friend to spread your experience and personal ideas in this branch!

Waiting for you to share with us the beauty and richness of your spirit,

Namaste

Mona

Hello everybody!

I would like to explain a little about the distant meditation in my Reiki group here.
Basically when I announce it, members who like to participate RSVP “Yes” on our event page. Please see the link to see how it looks like. http://reiki.meetup.com/538/
In our last distant new moon meditation, I send an instruction below to members.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The new moon is the birthing cycle of the moon's various phases. The new moon phase is an optimal time for planning and seeding your intentions. When it comes to setting goals or planning ahead for your future, it is a good time to get started during the new moon.

Things I suggest you to do before you start the meditation;
1. Cleanse your room with sage smudging or burning some incense.
2. Put some meditation music to listen to.
3. Write down a list of your desires on a paper. (Make positive statement! A statement such as “I WILL BE RICH ONE DAY has the word-power to keep a person in poverty because the focus is that richness will come later. Later never comes, as we are always living in NOW. An example of a positive prosperity affirmation would read like this “I AM RICH” or “TODAY I AM PROSPEROUS.”) Write down “Thank you” in the end of the list to show your gratitude.

At 10:00am;
Center your being and calm yourself in whatever way is appropriate for you. Take some deep cleansing breaths and start meditating. That’s it! It’s simple and easy.

For Reiki Practitioners above Level2;
Please check our meetup calendar in advance and write down the names of participants of the event on a piece of paper. When meditation starts, send reiki energy using 3 Reiki symbols.

For Non-Reiki Practitioners and Reiki Practitioners Level1;
You do not have to be present to receive the benefits of a Reiki treatment. You can be anywhere, doing anything and still be given the treatment.
While you meditate, some of the Reiki practitioners send energy to the participants.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is how I organized the meditation. I’m happy to hear from you if you have any suggestion or concerns.
You can be a member of this meetup group or you can email me through my profile in this forum to join our next distant meditation.

Here is a little bit about what I learned from my Japanese Master.
My Reiki master learned Reiki from both Japanese master (Gendai Reiki) and American master (Western Reiki).  The style of Reiki I got attuned from my master is basically “Gendai Reiki” but she taught me some techniques from western Reiki such as “Reiki Box”. She also added some knowledge of aromatherapy and crystals in Reiki. We do use the symbols. She recommended to perform Hatsuri Ho once or twice a day. We always perform Jiko Jyoka Ho (self-cleansing) before we have healing session and Ken Yoku (Dry Bathing) in the end ( also always wash hands with running water) to disconnect ourselves from clients' energy.
She mentioned the technique Ketsueki Koukan Ho (a blood cleansing) from “Traditional Japanese Reiki” that Dr. Usui originally used is pretty powerful. I would like to get into more about Traditional Reiki in a future.

Dear Yuko,
Thanks for the explanation.
Please announce the date of next distant meditation. Certainly we would like to join you.
We would like to understand Jiko Jyoka Ho, Ken Yoku, Ketsueki Koukan Ho.
What's difference between Gendai Reiki and Western Reiki?

Sai Ram and hello, dearest Yuko!
Wow! Your message sounds so positive and interesting, thank you so much for sharing your pretious time and experience.
Oh, I have noticed you are using in your mediations that so-called self-hypnosis way-like, by using the positive affirmations; This is, indeed, very helpfully and supportive not just to the reiki practitioners but to anyone else who would like to feel better, to evolve, to solve their purposes, to heal themselves, a.s.o.
In fact, the positive affirmations are also a way of selfhealing or a part of it (in case we are using this as an add-on to a main healing meaning).

Thank you once again and we look forward for new experiences of yours and, who knows, from your wonderful colleagues too?!... Kiss Smiley

Thousand blessings, love and light to you and to all your beloves ones,
Mona

Sai Ram, Yuko and thank you very much for the explanations.

Dear Yuko, please learn me more about the technique Ketsueki Koukan Ho (blood cleansing) from “Traditional Japanese Reiki” that Dr. Usui originally used  and that is pretty powerful. I kindly ask you this because I am interested to learn this technique from you and to apply it - I feel this is so usefully!

Thanking to you in advance for your kindness I remain
With Endless love and light, Cheesy

Western Reiki and Gendai Reiki

Western Reiki is the system that was taught by Hawayo Takata when she introduced Reiki to the west. She introduced standard hand positions instead of using intuition to guide their hands (traditional Mikao Usui's method).
Gendai Reiki is based on both traditional Japanese Reiki and Western Reiki. It was developed by Hiroshi Doi, a Japanese Reiki master who is a member of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai

Jiko Jyoka Ho,(Self Cleansing)

Jiko Jyoka Ho is effective to perform before you have a healing session.
1. Close your eyes in standing position.
2. Both elbows are put right and left with the palms down in front of your chest.
3. Both hands are pressing down towards your feet while quietly exhaling. Feel all negative energy goes to ground.
4. With your palms still down, inhale from your nose as you move up your hands to your head. Then move the palms up and receive energy from the universe.
5. Exhale as you move your palms down towards your head slowly. Trace your aura by your palms from head to face, chest, hip. Imagine your body is filled by Reiki.
6. Repeat 4 and 5 as many as you like.

Ken Yoku (Dry Bathing)

It is used to disconnect from your client energy after a treatment. It is also useful to disconnect from your negative thoughts and feelings in your mind. Ken Yoku is a part of the Hatsurei Ho as well.

In standing position,
1. Bring your right hand up to your left shoulder, palm flat and facing the body. Stroke down your hand diagonally from the left shoulder towards your right hip.
2. Bring your left hand up to your right shoulder, palm flat and facing the body. Stroke down your hand diagonally from the right shoulder towards your left hip.
3. Bring your right hand up to your left shoulder, palm flat and facing the body. Stroke down your hand diagonally from the left shoulder towards your right hip.
4. Bring your right hand up to your left shoulder with left arm held straight out in front of you. Slide your hand along your left arm to the end of the fingers.
5. Bring your left hand up to your right shoulder with right arm held straight out in front of you. Slide your hand along your right arm to the end of the fingers.
6. Bring your right hand up to your left shoulder with left arm held straight out in front of you. Slide your hand along your left arm to the end of the fingers.

Exhale through the nose as you move your hands.

Ketsueki Koukan Ho (blood cleansing)

Ketsueki Koukan Ho is not just laying of hands. It involves moving hands along the spine. In some of the countries, using this technique could be restricted by law or state regulation concerning massage. If you are treating clients in a business setting, please be advised to contact your local massage board for specific information unless you are licensed as a massage therapist.

This treatment is effective at the end of your Reiki session
The client should be lying on their stomach with no cloths or one layer on his/her upper body.
Please make sure not to give pressure on spine.

Hanshin Koketsu ho (Half body blood cleansing)
1. Place your hand on back of your clients neck with thumb on one side of second cervical vertebra and the index finger on the other side. Draw first symbol (Chok Ray) with the fingers and press lightly for about 30 seconds.
2. Make "V" with your index finger and middle finger. Take deep cleansing breath and feel Reiki energy between the fingers.
3. Place the index finger on one side of second cervical vertebra and the middle finger on the other side. Stroke down the fingers firmly (but no to hard) from neck to the base of the spine. (quickly in the end)
4. Repeat 3 for 20 times.
5. After the 20th stroke, place your thumb on one side of the base of the spine and the index finger on the other side. Draw first symbol (Chok Ray) with the fingers and press lightly for about 30 seconds.
6. Place both hands at the top of the spine with one hand on either side. Stroke down outward from center to the sides of the body. Do this going down about 5 times until the entire spine is treated from top to bottom.

Zenshin Koketsu ho(Full body blood cleansing)
After Hanshin Koketsu ho, you can continue to do this for full body blood cleansing.
1. Stroke down outside of right thigh and calf then inside. Repeat it 3 times.
2. Stroke down outside of left thigh and calf then inside. Repeat it 3 times.
3. Grip right ankle by your dominant hand and place the other hand on the root of foot. Then pull the leg
4. Grip left ankle by your dominant hand and place the other hand on the root of foot. Then pull the leg
5. Tap upper body and lower body lightly several times.

Thank you for the shared knowledge, dear Yuko, they could be used so well by the Reiki practitioners as a right, brief and exact guidance, mainly by the Reiki students.

When it comes of me, I am glad I didn't gone too far from the Traditional Reiki because I love to be and work "near the very roots" of Reiki and to practice it according to my own intuition, according to my inner voice, feeling a kind of a "liberty" in healing a patient exactly how I "feel" it is right. Love, tollerance, peace and wisdom guide us on the right path in anything we are doing...

Therefore I thank you once again for the info, Yuko,

Hello Reiki friends!

It's much easier if you have somebody to demonstrate the techniques I have written on this board before.
I hope I could give you some idea at least...

I have been to Mt. Kurama for a couple of times this year. The energy there is soooo powerful.
Every time I go there, I have amazing time.
I have uploaded some pictures. Please visit http://reiki.meetup.com/538/photos/.
