I went to a meeting of Reiki folks in the area today.
I came in at the mid day lunch break as the early session was for Reki Masters. I was appaled by what I heard at the table. A respected member of the community said no one who has practised Reiki has attianed enlightenment.
This made me upset. I pass Reiki to help others not for some reward. I want nothing, I am happy; not rich but what is the value of money? Reiki is for me a way to help nothing more
I have avoided the spiritual realm for years because of the same experience. I guess nothing has changed.
Spiritual Materialism equates the "what ever" to something of value but I just don't understand why there is the need to claim or take credit.

Well, I suppose I did mention money. It was not what my post was about. I guess I failed to express the root cause of my upset, for that I apologise.

I think that this passage of my original post goes to the root of my upset:

I do not have any inerest in enlightenment; I just want to help others.
