Darcie, have you been protecting yourself appropriately before sending healing?

First it really sounds like a detoxification - if you are sending reiki, reiki will run through your own system too and detoxification can be one result. Mrs. Takata teached that every reiki channel should give himself a daily treatment to stay energiesed an healthy. She said "First treat yourself and then others". So this may be a very good idea.

Then Protection: i was teached that protection isn`t really necassary with reiki - because it is running through the Healers Body and is a very pure and high energy, it prevents the Healer from picking-up unwanted energys or getting drained.

But on the other side, Reiki will do a lot of more for the Healer too. It can open your awareness to energies and it can also open the awareness to other gifts of spirit you may have. Remember, when Takata was initiated she began to see and feel People who needed help with clairvoyance! So i think, what you experienced was maybe a kind of side-effect. Many Healers are feeling some symptoms of their clients during a session (me too). It is nothing unusual and not dangerous but if it occurs you should pay attention to it and do a lot of self-healing and clearing and meditation. And allways stay groundet and centered in the commassionate Heart!

I generally get it when I dont ground myself...

can someone tell me the process of grounding...i usually imagine myself to be a tree with the roots spreading deep down into the earth and pray that i wont take up energy of the recepient...and if any energy is picked up it should flow down to mother earth...still m getting these symptoms...
