My grandfather fell and has since developed 2 bed sores on one of his buttock.
He has a large Stage 2 and a small Stage 1 sore on one of his buttock. The positioning makes it difficult to keep him off of it so it may get enough air.
my Granny is suffering from some dementia. She does not sleep nor does she take her medications. It is difficult to get her to leave my grandfather's side. I can tell she feels depressed. Often she voices her concern/fear her decisions are going to be questioned with others ganging up on her (her words).
His name is JB Fite (Papo) and hers is Lee Fite (Granny). They live in Hallsville, Texas, USA. Papo will be 98 on September 7th. Granny was 86 back on January 14th.

You do not live that far from me! My own grandmother had an episode with bed sores. She survived an awful triple bypass and nearly died from the bed sores. Thank you one and all for your generous energy and care. I am not sure how much better my grandfather will get with my grandmother in charge of his care. He does not take enough liquids and has suffered from an open sore on one of his legs. She is suffering from dementia and thinks everyone is out to get her. Unfortunately, the dementia along with her controlling attitude means she does not adhere to the doctor or medical requirements.
