Hello, I am Kimkarlene and received a Reiki I in-person attunement yesterday. I am not able to say there was an explosion of lights or sounds during my attunement... but I was in tears. Reiki is something I have has an interest in for a few years but never acted on. In the month prior to my attunement I began to feel energy movement in the palms of my hands and the top of my head. It was at this point I decided to receive the 1st attunement for Reiki.

My intention for Reiki I was through the desire to be able to help others. I also read the 1st 2 chapters of Diane Steins book: Essential Reiki prior to the attunement and realized that psyhic abilities can be heightened through attunement, so this was my second request. And finally I requested healing for my self on a physical level and emotional level.

Once home from the attunement I felt peaceful and within a few hours ready for a 2 hour nap. Later in the evening I did self healing before bed and again this morning. I do not feel hot hands and do not feel much difference from before my attunement though the energy in my hands and head is slightly stronger. I have been reading online this morning that Reiki can take a few weeks to process.

Do you have any insights or suggestions for me? Any info you would share would be appreicated.
